I have a bone of contention to deal with. When I was a child I was diagnosed with a very minor learning disability. I'm a visual learner. Audio? No thank you.
What does that mean? To put it simply. If someone tries to tell me the directions how to get somewhere I have no idea what they're saying. Draw me a map or show me on a map and I'm good to go.
For instance I can see when something is crooked instantly. No, I'm not OCD about it. I don't have a driving need to fix it. I don't even care, I can just see it where others might not be able to. Like if something is off an a centimeter (an inch for my U.S. friends). I'm also able to see instantly how accurate a drawn portrait is.
Now here's the part that drives me insane. I can't draw worth a damn. I see things in my head visually but could I even draw it? Not worth a damn. I see pictures, I see things visually before I even have the words, but draw it. Good luck! Because you're getting a stick figure, and that's it.
Is that a house? I think it is. Oh! Oh! It's a tree! I think. I have the drawing ability of a five year old. Wait, no. That's giving me too much credit. A 2 year old would probably be more accurate.
Now if you have the same flaws or something just as frustrating as that in your own life please let me know. Send me an email if it's of the private variety at inthemindofvegray@gmail.com or comment.
Thanks for reading my rant. More rants to come!
